The Phenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies has launched the second round of awareness sessions for workers and employers in the agricultural sector in Madaba Governorate, focusing on decent work and gender-based violence.
The sessions aim to raise awareness among workers and employers about their rights under labor and social security laws, as well as the Agricultural Workers’ Regulation. They also seek to enhance participants’ understanding of issues related to gender-based violence and to strengthen their knowledge of how to file labor complaints if they experience any form of violation in their workplaces.
These sessions are part of a project implemented by the Center under the title “Developing the Economy”, funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), and carried out in cooperation with Acted, Action Against Hunger (ACF), Terre des Hommes (TDH), ECO Consult, and the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), in coordination with the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC).
The project aims to contribute to the economic empowerment of the most vulnerable Syrian refugees and Jordanians working in Jordan’s agricultural sector by improving working conditions and promoting diverse and sustainable sources of income.
